Things to Do in Täsch & Zermatt

Shopping

From baked goods to mountaineering gear, athletic wear, and outdoor clothing, all the way to watches and jewelry, you’ll find everything your heart desires in Zermatt’s shops. Swiss chocolate specialties, crispy mountaineer’s bread, and chocolate Matterhörnli are also very popular with our guests.

Hiking

A perfectly maintained network of hiking trails—400 kilometers in summer and 70 kilometers in winter—has something for everyone. One highlight for the whole family, for example, is the scenic 5-Lakes Trail, which offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

Cycling

With 13 trails ranging from easy to difficult and plenty of lifts, the mountains around Zermatt are a paradise for mountain bikers. Don’t have your own bike? No problem. Our partner, Matterhorn Sport in Zermatt, will be happy to help you with a rental bike.

Skiing

Look forward to 360 kilometers of slopes with views of the Matterhorn and nearly 40 other four-thousand-meter peaks in Europe’s highest ski resort! When it’s time for a break, the on-mountain dining options are second to none. The restaurants and mountain huts in the ski resort are correspondingly busy, which is why tables should be reserved in advance. If you don’t have your own ski gear with you, you can rent modern equipment from our partner Matterhorn Sport at Haus Riva, just a three-minute walk away.

Sightseeing flights

Take off with Air Zermatt and experience the majestic world of the four-thousand-meter peaks from a bird’s-eye view. Although the Zermatt heliport is just a few minutes away, you can hardly hear any aircraft noise at the Alpine Resort.
